Adam is a Wessex soldier in King Alfred's army. He is the Wessex soldier wo kills Ivar the Boneless during the Battle of Edington.

Adam participates in the Battle of Edington. Adam is not seen in the first part of the battle, but he does participates in it.
Adam sits at a campfire with King Alfred and a few other saxon soldiers. He listens to Alfred's story.
He later listens to Alfred and Ivar's debate on the field of battle. Adam fights his way through the battlefield and he eventually encounters Ivar. Adam and Ivar stare at each other with big wide eyes. Ivar tells Adam "Don't be afraid!". Adam stabbs Ivar several times in the side and then runs away, never to be seen again.
