- The title of this episode references Hvitserk accidentally killing Lagertha after he mistook her for the serpent from his vision.
- Althrough uncredited, Igor is present at Ivar's side at Oleg's and Katia's wedding.
- The song sung by the choir at the church for Prince Oleg and Princess Katia's wedding is "Oche Nas." It is the Lord's Prayer, sung or chanted in Old Church Slavonic, and still performed at Eastern Orthodox weddings today.
