Anglo-Saxon England, or simplified England, is an island west of Norway and Denmark and north of West Francia, in the time period of the Vikings it was split up into many different kingdoms.

History[]

Anglo-Saxon England was early medieval England, existing from the 5th to the 11th century. It consisted of various Anglo-Saxon kingdoms until 927 when it was united as the Kingdom of England by King Athelstan. It later became part of the North Sea Empire of Cnut the Great, a personal union between England, Denmark, and Norway in the 11th century.[1] England did not exist as a concept until the reign of Alfred the Great, and not as an entity untiil the reign of Alfred's son Edward the Elder.
