Vestfold is a county on the southeastern coast of Norway under the direct rule of Harald Finehair, who becomes king of all Norway. Eventually, Vestfold becomes part of the Kingdom of Vestfold-Rogaland.

There may have been as many as six political centers in Vestfold. The first town in Norway is thought to be Kaupang, located in Vestfold. It was ruled by a chieftain during The Viking Era. Other major towns were Tønsberg and Borre.
